Symptoms of Depression in Adolescents
Depression
in Adolescents is characterized by feeling sad, frustrated, and hopeless about
life, accompanied by loss of pleasure in most activities and disturbances in
sleep, appetite, concentration and energy. Other signs and symptoms of teen’s
depression include:
(a) Sadness or hopelessness,
(b) Anxiety,
irritability, anger, or hostility,
(c) Tearfulness or
frequent crying,
(d) Withdrawal from friends and family
(e) Loss of interest in social activities
(f) Changes in eating and sleeping habits
(g) Restlessness and agitation

(i) Lack of enthusiasm and motivation
