Information overload adversely affects the quality of
information processing by human brain and its output.
Ø It interferes with short term memory and recalling of stored
information.
Ø Information overload interferes with learning and creative
problem solving.
Ø Increasing information desensitizes the learner and affects
learning adversely.
Ø Information overload causes Information Fatigue Syndrome.
Ø It adversely affect quick decision making. When informations are
too many, the individual needs more time to reach a decision.
Ø When information is too many, pupils have difficulties in
identifying the relationship between the details and the overall perspective.
Ø It diminishes job satisfaction, and results in reduced
productivity.
Ø It causes anxiety and deteriorates overall mental health of
individuals.
Ø Information overload leads to poor concentration due to the overloading
