scientists have developed a new system that can help robots avoid colliding with other moving objects and weave through complex ,rapidly changing environments in real time .The algorithm "fasteron ' -developed by researchers at the University of California San Diego- runs up to eight times faster than existing collision detection algorithms. Fastron  will be useful    for robots that operate in environments where they must be able to are exploring is robot -assisted surgeries using the da Vinci Surgical systical, in which a robotic arm autonomously performs assistive tasks without getting in the way of the surgeon -controlled arms or the patient's organs
